City of Woodinville

Woodinville requires all businesses to register with the city if they are:

  • Located within city limits, or
  • Conducting business within city limits.

If you don't know if you do business within city limits, call the City at 425-489-2700 or check the address online at http://www.ci.woodinville.wa.us/Live/Resident.asp before applying.

If more than one business is located in a single premise, you must complete a separate registration for each business conducted.

Other Requirements

Door-to-Door Canvassers, Peddlers and Solicitors License and Permit

If you would like to peddle, solicit, or canvas door to door within the City of Woodinville, you must obtain a license and permit in addition to a City business endorsement. A Master Peddler License must be filled out for the business as well as a Peddler's Permit application for each individual solicitor. See WMC 5.04.040 for more information. The $130 fee per application is collected by the city.

Home Occupation and Home Industry Businesses

Small scale home occupation businesses that are accessory to the main residential use and fit the definition of WMC 21.30.040 are required to obtain a City business endorsement and fill out a supplemental home business questionnaire. There is no additional cost for Home Occupation Permits. Home occupation businesses pay the same annual fee as the general business license.

More involved home operations are referred to as “home industry” and are defined by WMC 21.30.050. If you have a business in your home or on your personal property that fits this definition, in addition to a City business endorsement you are required to fill a supplemental home business questionnaire and obtain a separate Home Industry Permit. The $104 fee is collected by the city.

Supplemental home business questionnaires can be emailed to the City at planning@ci.woodinville.wa.us or mailed to:
